#1. The women we’ve become as a result of CNC.

A cord of three is not easily broken. As iron sharpens iron. A friend loves at all times. Love covers a multitude of sins. In our weakness, His power is made perfect.

Thank you, Catherine and Nancy, for being instruments of refinement and grace and love in my life. The Lrd loves me so much and it is evident that He would give you both to me for this season of my life… I am so incredibly grateful and I am forever changed.

#2. Community.

family away from home…

I am so incredibly blssed and loved not only by Father, but by the people that he has placed in my life… Thank you to all those who have shed light on my life…. that have sharpened my iron and mine yours… Gd really has continually outdone himself… Thank you SMIC, PCO, LFS, Rhema Fire to Ignite to Reign to Blaze to Risen Life, to the randos that come through… You are each heaven sent and I truly am blssed.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

#3. The Home of CNC.

All 168 square meters of it… the small details that my landlord puts into that makes it really a home. 🙂 I love my room, the space, the lighting, the secret rooms, special doors, mirrors, glass panels… and yes… even the seven flights I will miss. 🙂 We’ve also been blessed to have an amazing understandable and gracious landlord that Gd prepared to be my student’s parents! PTL!! I love CNC home on thursdays evenings especially when our amazing ayi finishes doing her magic at our home.

#4: Shanghai Community Fellowship Church.

This past Sunday was my last Sunday at SCF. They have this tradition if you have been worshiping with them for 6 months or more they encourage you to stand up and share where you are going… (My speech that i cried through is below, for those of you who couldnt understand me)

One thing I really love about SCF is how it models after the first century chrch in the fact that purely by location it draws in people from all walks of life. and the second thing i love most is how international and how it is a glimpse of the glry of heaven… 🙂

My good bye speech:

Hello church,

I didnt know this day would come so soon but here it is.
My life is characterized by a Gd that has blssed me incredibly much so to blss many more.
I’m Christine from the USA and I’ve been here in shanghai for almost 4 years and have grown to really love this city.
I’m an international school teacher here and am moving on to God’s next assignment for me in HK
to invest in eternity and raise Gd fearing children.
Thank you to the leadership, pastor dale and becky for your example and shepherding hearts, the faithful prayer team,
the hospitality team for giving me the privilege to serve, the Rhema cluster famiy from fire to ignite to reign to blaze to risen life.
The Community that He has blessed me here is immeasurably more than I could have asked for or imagined.
Thank you for being my family away from home. And for journeying with me thru this incredible adventure he’s taken me on in SH.
You come to SH as someone and you leave, changed and transformed.
I am incredibly blssed to be able to witness and participate how Gd has been at work in this city and in many of your lives and
I know without a shadow of a doubt that greater things are yet to come in this city!

#5: Biking.

the views, the clouds, the night rides to the bund and suzhou creek, Jing An District, the French Concession, the cramped roads, the crazyness, the buses, the motorcyclist, the taxi drivers, the near death experiences, the unprotected lefts, the works of it all…IMG_4377

biking with loretta biking with cnc

I really enjoyed learning about the city and meandering around while on bicycle is one of the things that i will fully fully miss about shanghai… PTL, I biked for this long and never got it stolen and have not died. 🙂 HE IS GOOD.

I love the school, my colleagues, my kiddos, the supportive parents, the library, the school lunches, bilingualism, the smiles, the giggles, the randomness of teaching, the spontaneity… Oh the joys of work 🙂 I love being a teacher 🙂
